NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO
ENTER OR CLAIM PRIZE. A purchase will not improve your odds of
winning.
- ELIGIBILITY: The Write Your Way To College Sweepstakes
(the “Sweepstakes”) is open
to individual, legal residents of the 50 United States and the District
of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older.
Employees and members of Newell Rubbermaid Inc., Advantage Sales
& Marketing LLC d/b/a Integrated Marketing Services (“Administrator”),
and each of their respective affiliates, parent companies, subsidiaries,
successors and assigns, divisions, suppliers, distributors and
advertising, promotional and judging agencies and such employees’/members’
immediate family members (defined as parents, spouses, children and siblings,
whether biological, adoptive, step or in-law regardless of where they live)
and/or those living in the same household of each (whether related or not)
are not eligible to participate or
win a prize. Void where prohibited. This sweepstakes will be construed and
evaluated according to U.S. law. This Sweepstakes is sponsored by Sanford,
L.P. (“Sponsor”), a subsidiary of Newell Rubbermaid Inc.
- HOW TO
ENTER: The
Sweepstakes begins at 12:00:01 AM Eastern Time (“ET”) on 7/24/15 and ends
at 11:59:59 PM ET on 9/30/15 (the “Sweepstakes Period”). An eligible
entrant may enter the Sweepstakes in one of two ways (1) submit a receipt
for the purchase of any two (2) packs of Sharpie, Paper Mate, Mr. Sketch,
EXPO or Uniball products (collectively referred to as “Eligible Products”)
in a single transaction during the Sweepstakes Period via text message or
online or via email (see below), or (2) enter by mail without making a
purchase (see below). You may submit a receipt in one of three ways: (1)
To submit your receipt for two Eligible Products via text message, text
“Write College” to 811811. You will
receive a reply message asking you to reply with a photo of your full
receipt for the purchase of the two Eligible Products with the qualifying
purchases circled. Reply with a
photo of your marked receipt. You
will receive a second reply text messages confirming receipt of your
receipt photo. If you have not
already registered for the program, you will also receive a message asking
you to register. Follow the link in that reply message to register for the
Sweepstakes. (2) To submit your receipt online, visit the Sweepstakes’ website
at www.writecollege.com, and follow the instructions to enter your email
address and upload a photo of your receipt for the purchase of the two
Eligible Products with the qualifying purchases circled. After your
receipt has been uploaded, you will be prompted to register for the
program if you have not already registered. You must register and your receipt must
be validated for you to receive an entry into the Sweepstakes. (3) To submit your receipt via email,
take a photo of or scan your receipt and attach to an email to send to: redeem@writecollege.com. You will receive an email
confirming receipt of your receipt photo. If you have not already
registered for the program, you will receive an email containing a link to
register. Follow the link supplied in the reply message to register for
the Sweepstakes. Receipt must include the date and time of purchase. Each
receipt can only be submitted one (1) time. Message & data rates may apply. By texting WRITE COLLEGE to
811811 you consent to receive up to 10 SMS messages to the number you
provided from Snipp Interactive, Inc on behalf of Sponsor. Your consent to
the above is not required as a condition of purchase. You must have a
text messaging two-way capable phone and appropriate service to enter
using the text messaging method.
To
enter the Sweepstakes without purchase, hand print your complete name, address (no P.O. Boxes),
city, state, ZIP code, date of birth and daytime phone number on a 3 1/2” x 5”
piece of paper and mail your entry in an envelope (no larger than #10) with
postage affixed to: Write Your Way To
College Sweepstakes, P.O. Box 590, Wilton, CT 06897-0590 (a “Mail-in
Entry”). Mail-in Entries have the same
chance of winning as entries submitted with a receipt. Limit
one (1) Mail-in Entry per outer stamped envelope. No mechanically reproduced
entries will be accepted. Mail-in Entry must be postmarked by 9/30/15 and
received by 10/13/15.
Limit
one (1) entry per person and per phone number/email address and per household
per day regardless of method of entry.
If a person submits more than one (1)
entry in one day, only the first entry received that day will be entered into
the drawing. Mailed entries are deemed to be submitted on the day on which they
are postmarked. Proof of submission is
not proof of receipt by Sponsor. Automated methods of entry, including entry
via third party websites, are prohibited. Sponsor reserves the right to
disqualify any individual and all entries using such method. Sponsor, Administrator and participating Retailers (“Released Parties”) are not
responsible for computer system, phone line, hardware, software or program
malfunctions, or other errors, failures or delays in computer transmissions or
network connections that are human or technical in nature. All entries become
the property of Sponsor and will not be returned.
- DRAWING/PRIZES: After the end of the Promotion
Period, on or about 10/14/15, a random drawing will be conducted by a
representative of Administrator, an independent judging organization, from
all eligible entries received, to award the following prizes: One (1) Grand Prize: $30,000,
awarded as a payment
to a qualified 529 College Savings Plan established
for the benefit of the winner or a minor child/legal ward that the winner
has legal guardianship over.
Two (2) First
Prizes: $5,000, awarded
as a payment to a qualified 529 College Savings Plan
established for the benefit of the winner or a minor child/legal ward that
the winner has legal guardianship over. Winner will be required to establish a 529 College
Savings Plan account, unless winner already has an existing qualified 529
College Savings Plan account for his/her benefit or the benefit of a minor/legal
ward of the winner, in which case the prize will be deposited into that account. Check will be payable
directly to a Section 529 education savings plan account established for
the benefit of the winner or their minor child/legal ward. Winner may not be able to make a
withdrawal of any kind for up to one (1) year from date 529 account is
opened. An annual account
maintenance fee may apply. Non-qualified educational withdrawals may be
taxed and an additional penalty may apply.
Winners should check with a tax advisor regarding the tax
advantages of a 529 College Savings Plan.
All federal, state and local taxes and any other costs
and expenses associated with the acceptance and use of any prize not
specified herein are the sole responsibility of each winner. Odds of winning depend on the
number of eligible entries received.
Limit: one (1) prize per person, household or family.
Total ARV of all Prizes is: $40,000.
- GENERAL CONDITIONS:
No substitution,
exchange or transfer of prize permitted.
All federal, state and local taxes on prize are the sole responsibility of
the winner. All incomplete or non-conforming entries will be
disqualified. Potential winners
will be notified by express mail and/or telephone. Potential winners will
be required to sign an Affidavit of eligibility, liability release and Publicity
Release (where lawful). Noncompliance by date specified on winner
notification letter or return of prize or prize notification as undeliverable
will result in disqualification. Unclaimed prizes may not be awarded.
Acceptance of prize constitutes winner’s agreement and permission for
Sponsor and its agencies to use winner’s name, photograph, quote and/or likeness
for advertising, publicity and trade purposes in commerce and in any and
all media worldwide without limitation, further notice or compensation,
unless prohibited by law. By participating in and/or accepting prize, and
entrants and winners as a condition of entry
into the Sweepstakes agree
to: (a) be bound by these official rules and the decisions of the Sponsor
and Administrator, which shall be final and binding in all respects; and
(b) to indemnify, release, hold harmless and forever discharge and
covenant not to sue Sponsor, Administrator, and their respective parent
companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, distributors, agents and promotion
and advertising agencies and any other entities involved in the
development, execution or fulfillment of this Sweepstakes, and the
employees, directors, shareholders, officers, members, agents and assigns
of each of the foregoing entities (collectively, the “Released Parties”),
from any and all claims, demands, damages, losses and liabilities, of any
nature whatsoever, which they may now or hereafter assert, including but
not limited to, claims for injury, death, damages, or illness arising out
of or relating to or claimed to be arising out of or relating to Sweepstakes,
prize acceptance, travel to and from any prize-related activity, or use or
misuse of the prize awarded including, without limitation, personal
injury, death and property damage. Sponsor and its agents are not
responsible for any printing or other errors in Sweepstakes-related
material. Should the Sweepstakes be, in Sponsor's sole discretion,
compromised by virus, worms, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or
other causes which, in the sole discretion of the Sponsor, intentionally
or unintentionally corrupt or impair the administration, security,
fairness or proper participation in the Sweepstakes, and/or the
submission/receipt of Submissions, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole (but not the obligation) to cancel,
terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes or any entry. In such event,
Sponsor will conduct a random drawing to choose a winner from among all
eligible, non-suspect entries received prior to the time of the action or
event warranting the such cancellation, termination, modification or
suspension. Released Parties are not responsible for any interruptions in
phone service, unavailable network, server, Internet Service Provider
(ISP), website or other connections that may limit a person’s ability to
enter or participate in the Sweepstakes. In the event of a dispute regarding
entries received from multiple users having used the same e-mail account,
the authorized subscriber of the e-mail account at the time of entry will
be deemed to be the Entrant and must comply with these guidelines.
Authorized account subscriber is the natural person who is assigned the
e-mail address by the ISP, on-line service provider or other organization
responsible for assigning e-mail addresses. This Sweepstakes will be
governed by the laws of New York and by entering you consent to
jurisdiction and venue in the courts of New York State for the resolution
of any disputes.
- CAUTION: ANY
ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE
OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL
LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT
TO DISQUALIFY ANY SUCH PERSON AND SEEK DAMAGES FROM HIM/HER TO THE FULLEST
EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

include the Sweepstakes Name in the subject line; Write Your Way To
College Sweepstakes. Winners list
will be sent after winners have been verified.
